2nd clinic session for the First 30
Hello everyone,
The date was set more than a month ago for last Saturday 26th November in La Rochelle. The agenda for this day was drawn up by Marc Reine, national technical advisor to the FFV for cruisers.
Three First 30 JK, their owners, as well as their crews had set a date to meet up and approve the main improvements to be made to the trims.
This was without counting the other First 30 JK owners who made the trip (sometimes from a good distance) to complete the crews and 2 other BENETEAU boats of the same size, which agreed to join them to view the progress.
There was only one regret. The weather was exceedingly difficult! A fog had settled in providing scarcely 30 metres of visibility, and it did not lift for the whole day!
There was plenty of motivation. All the participants set out to sea despite the extremely limited visibility, and the short tacks on the wind succeeded each other. Trims were exchanged (thanks to the GPS) in a very friendly manner!
This day’s result:
Firstly, well done to the owners and crews, who braved the fog, both by road, to get there, and at sea, thank you very much!
In comparison with the first session, we observed notable progress for some of the boats, due to trims resulting from a variety of searches, a better reading of the longitudinal trim of the F 30 JK, as well as in relation to the modifications carried out by the sailmakers on their production.
Very soon you will find more "Useful tricks and clever ideas" on the association’s website.
This new clinic session and the ensuing results have encouraged us to renew the experience at the very beginning of next year.
We are particularly happy to observe that the owners who were unable to come with their boats are motivated and would be happy to take part in these gatherings.
Lastly, we are grateful to the association and its president, since through this they demonstrate the well-foundedness of their approach.
This is how brilliant stories are written.
See you soon
